To all members, and anyone else who reads this blog, have a safe and joyous holiday season, and we hope to see you back next year.
2015 was a great year for our club. We participated in many events and had some very good times. Especially memorable were the build days and band camp this year. Something we intend to continue next year.
To top this off we had a fantastic night at the EOY dinner and got to take a close look at some of the great models our members have turned out this year. Not only that but we were well fed, and had some fun winning prizes.
Especial congratulations go to:
Mick Rennie for clubman of the year.
Brian Thewlis for modeller of the year.
Larry d'Argaville for Model of the year.
Once again I would like to thank the members fior their support this year, and especially like to thank the committee members Laurence, Rene, Brian, Alex, Larry and Mick for all of there had work.
I would like to extend our best wishes for the holidays and the coming new year to all.
Below I have a selection of models from end of year. I hope you take the time to look at them and enjoy. Thanks to Rene for the pictures.
Merry Christmas and happy new year to all
Regards

Tuesday 17/11/15 - Meeting night
Hi All,
This week is a big one, Trivia Night. So along with all the regular meeting ventures we have our annual Trivia Night. The stakes are high, and many a sheep station will be won or lost on the evening. We also have a small bundle of new toys for the winners.
As this is our final meeting for the year, I would like to thank all for their support for the club and the current committee this year.
In saying that we have one last event after this which is of course our End Of Year competition and Dinner. Please if you wish to come along for the dinner we need to let Rene know ASAP as we need to plan catering etc for the evening.
I have some pictures here from the last meeting and the Display at Bayonet's competition on the weekend past, but are having some difficulty posting them. I will put them up in the next day or so.... I look forward to catching up with you in the near future.

It is that time of year again.
End of Year is upon us, and where has the year gone.
Rene is happy to accept money or even just commitments at this stage for people wishing to attend the annual EOY dinner. The cost is $35 per person.
Remember the most prestigious competition in Australia is on during the day for members only.
Entry is free, doors open around midday.
The location this year is once again the Church Hall at St Faiths in Burwood.
The dinner kicks off around 6pm with a full evening of entertainment, presentations and a catered dinner. Byo drinks although soft drinks will be available free.
This year the dinner will be held on 28th November, so we look forward to seeing you all there for a great day and night, guests are welcome.
In other news.
November meeting night (17th) is Trivia night, so come down and participate in one of the most enjoyable evenings on our calendar. Prizes on offer for the winning team. Once again guests are welcome.
We have our display to be shown at the Bayonet comp in Werribee at the B24 hanger. So come down, enter, or not and visit the show on the day and help support their charities.
If you haven't already seen Alex, make sure you bring your ping pong models as well.
I Look forward to catching up with everyone in the coming weeks...

Meeting Night and Build day.
Sorry for the late post, but at least we got one up.
Tomorrow is meeting night. We have special guest Brian from Wargames Minatures attending. He will have a selection of his wares present for purchasing so bring along some money.
He will also do a short discussion (answer question type set up of some of his more popular products. this is a real opportunity to get up close to some of those finishing agents you have been admiring.
To important matters. This weekend (Saturday 19th September) is build day at St Faiths Church Hall in Burwood. The day runs from 10am to 10pm. Provide your own lunch, but dinner will be provided and drinks will be available all day. There is plenty of space so come on down with a model and have a chat and a quiet build. Or come down later in the day and have a BBQ and some cake.
We will also be holding a small internal swap and sell. so if you have any kits or decals or accessories sets you wish to get rid of bring them along and place them out. maybe someone lese may want them.
We will also be running 2 raffles on the day with approximately $70 worth of modelling supplies in each raffle. Tickets will be $1 each.
There is a small fee of $10 per person which helps offset the cost of the hall and BBQ.
So we hope to see you both at tomorrows meeting and at the build day on Saturday.

Tuesday 21/7/15 is meeting night.
Come along to the meeting this month and bring your models.
This month we have a theme of your favorite or most influential War Movie or Book.
So bring along the Movie or book and if you have any models relating to it bring them to. Also think about why it influenced you or why it is your favorite.
As usual we will have our what's new session, and also our models in progress, so make sure you bring some stuff along.
I have uploaded so images from Band Camp 2015. Once again a great weekend was had, and enjoyed by all who attended.
DC won the silly hat award, while Laurence won the raffle and then proceeded to hand out the prizes to everyone else.
For the first time in 5 years Rene didn't win the most valuable player award, with John B snatching this away from him. Thanks to all who attended, and special thanks to Laurence and Little Mick for their work over the weekend. Pics below...
