Wings and Tracks 2014
The weekend has arrived and with it Wings and Tracks this Sunday. Be sure to come down to Ashburton Library 152 High St Ashburton to check out the great models on display and do some model shopping.
We have plenty of traders in attendance including Hobby HQ, Firestorm, Brunel hobbies.
Doors open with the Library at 10am and presentations will kick off at 3pm.
$5 entry, kids under 14 free, $5 competition entry for unlimited models.
Don't forget the Golden Sprocket and the Gold Wing Theme model awards, with Out of Box T34''s and derivatives and Out of Box F16's and derivatives being the themes this year.
Of course we would like to see people come in to help out with judging, as the golden rule of many hands making light work always rings true.
So come down for a look, a shop, a chat over a cup of coffee and a great day, see you there.

Febuary Meeting
We have kicked off the new club year with the AGM last night. The committee was elected and we now steam full ahead into the special year that is 2014.
Committee Members are:
Andrew Perren - President
Mic Bradshaw - Vice President
Jason Steinwedel - Treasurer
Mike Rennie - Secretary
Laurence Farrugia - Committee person.
We have 2 positions currently vacant, so if you have some free time and would like to help out please feel free to contact Andrew.
We had a very good turn out last night and the models on the table were excellent, showing people had been busy over the last couple of months since end of year.
Wings and Tracks was announced, and this sees us return to Ashburton Library in April for this event, we have a pending announcement for a new venue for the Swap and Sell which we hope will be a lot better than previous venues. Andrew also announced that the club display build weekend has been relocated and rescheduled due to availability of the "special" kits. We will announce further news here.
The whole committee is looking forward to the coming year, where the club will be celebrating it's 50th anniversary with numerous events for members.
Here are some photos of the models on the tables and congrats to Andrew P for his model of the month Mig29.
Prospective member Nick had this very nice Porter on the table...
Rene had his Choctaw on display....
Uncle Les had these upsized space marines to show off...
Graham and Alex had Harrier fever...
and Laurence is still working on his devils chariot....
But to my mind the best piece of the night was Faz's car awesome work and detailing. Looks almost real.
Until the next post happy modelling.

Final post for 2013.
Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy new year to all.
This year was a great year for our club. 2014 promises to be even bigger and better, being our 50th anniversary.
Our club ended the year on a great note with the annual end of year competition and dinner. We also got some great news and will be moving back to our meeting rooms at Ashburton Library in 2014. Something to look forward to.
Below I have added some pictures from the EoY comp and dinner.
Congratulations to Laurence Farrugia for winning model of the year with his SM81.

Don't forget EOY Dinner and Competition on the 7th December at Ashburton Primary School, Ashburton.
The day kicks off at about 12pm. The competition portion of the day is free to all members and lunch of hot dogs and soft drinks is provided. A great way to catch up with fellow members and to get a good close look at their models.
The dinner part of the day kicks off at 6.30pm with pre dinner drinks and nibblies, followed by a presentation night and sit down catered dinner.
Mic B will be MC for the night, and as usual he has lots of fun activities planned. With this is also our world famous kit raffle and door prize give away.
